The 74m Offshore Patrol Vessel, built by an Italian shipbuilder was handed over to it’s new owners in November 2022. The vessel, which was the largest ever built by this shipyard, will carry out surveillance, coastal and offshore monitoring and SAR operations in the central Mediterranean,
ASL GRP worked with the shipyard to design a STANAG level 2 ballistic protection system that was installed in to the wheelhouse. The entire process manufacturing process was in-house at ASL’s UK base, and all installation was carried out by ASL technicians during the build process.
The vessel protection is mounted inside the wheelhouse outer walls, window frames and exterior doors. Removable gun mount with ballistic shield was also installed onto the upper deck.
